The Design Engineering Team is responsible for maintaining the design and licensing bases requirements of the station. One of the primary functions of the Design Engineering team is to develop modification packages and review any changes to the station to ensure all associated design and licensing requirements remain met and configuration control is maintained.
A Design Engineering Electrical/Instrumentation & Control engineer is responsible for changes to the plant’s electrical systems, in addition to maintaining the station’s electrical analyses and calculations. This position will be more focused on electrical upgrades including, but not limited to, transformers, breakers, and motors. Previous experience in the development of modification packages and electrical equipment replacements is desirable.
- Develop modification packages to support station changes and upgrades
- Provide innovative engineering solutions to complex problems
- Maintain the technical conscience for the station and demonstrate accountability for technical products and recommendations
- Participate in and lead special projects or teams on occasion
- Perform reviews specific to digital upgrades to ensure all requirements are met
- Identifies and performs tasks as required to meet objectives
- Bachelor's Degree or greater in an Engineering discipline (Electrical preferred)
- 8 yrs related job experience is preferred
- Previous experience in electrical design engineering
- Knowledge of electrical equipment including breakers, relays, motors and transformers is preferred
- Proficient with technical evaluation processes.
- Knowledge of electrical component design performance characteristics and specifications
- Experience in performing 10CFR50.59 reviews is preferred
- Communication –Must be able to effectively communicate with peers, management and/or represent Vistra’s interests to outside agencies
- Able to execute projects/strategies with some oversight.
