The Central EHS team ensures that Solar Turbines has a clear strategy for supporting our manufacturing operations projects, processes and compliance. This EHS Senior Professional will provide critical consultation on air quality compliance for U.S. (domestic) facilities – primarily in California. This pivotal role will harness deep regulatory expertise, critical thinking, data analysis and clear communications to develop short- and long-term air management strategies.
- Serve as a subject matter expert in managing and ensuring compliance with air quality regulations across diverse operational environments.
- Lead and support projects related to regulatory compliance or improving facility and enterprise process and procedures.
- Develop and manage comprehensive air management programs, which may include aspects of permitting, training, inspections, recordkeeping and reporting.
- Monitor periodic performance reports for trends and conditions, alert operations management to challenges and make recommendations for improvement.
- Provide interpretations, recommendations and unique solutions for current and emerging regulatory topics that may impact our operations.
- Act as the primary liaison for regulatory agencies, consultants and engage with local industry professional associations on aspects of air quality management best practices.

- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in environmental engineering, systems or science related fields.
- A minimum of 5 years of overall professional experience, ideally associated with engine test cell, coating, thermal spray or welding operations.
- Prior environmental experience in regulatory, consulting or manufacturing-based industries.
- Deep understanding of federal, state, and local air quality regulations (e.g., Clean Air Act, Title V, NSR/PSD, NESHAP, and local APCD/AQMD rules)
- Demonstrated ability to interpret, apply, and communicate complex requirements at all levels of the organization.
- A proven history of collaboration across multiple groups to achieve challenging objectives.
- This position is based in San Diego, CA.
- Solar is in the office five days per week, with flexibility as needed. (on-site)
