The EH&S Lead is responsible for leading the establishment, implementation, and continuous improvement of a safe and compliant work environment across multiple sites. This includes managing EH&S regulations, policies, procedures and EH&S objectives to ensure a healthy and incident-free workplace aligned with location specific standards across the United States.


Responsibilities include:


Safety and Regulatory Compliance:

Develop, adopt, and implement safety policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with industry best practices, OSHA standards, local, state, and national regulations.
Identify hazards and recommend corrective or preventative measures to ensure safe working environments.
Lead initiatives to reduce recordable injuries and improve safety and health performance by monitoring safe systems of work and current safe operating procedures.
Participate in safety and equipment reviews to identify safety concerns and conduct health and safety audits and inspections.
Conduct process risk assessments and ensure that existing risk assessments are regularly updated.
Review and assess lab and other company safety procedures.
Perform gap analyses and internal audits based on EHS policy standards.
Support sites during external customer audits.
Use enterprise systems to initiate, track, close, and measure the effectiveness of corrective and preventive actions from internal and external audits.


Training & Development:

Create and validate training curricula in areas of responsibility, ensuring they align with EH&S policies.
Assess training needs for field/lab/office employees, select suitable providers, and deliver training to personnel and contractors as needed.
Ensure the timely delivery of mandatory regulatory health and safety training within legal/regulatory timeframes.
Ensure a sufficient number of staff are trained and hold positions such as First Aid/CPR care providers.
Monitor and maintain the systems for ensuring fire precautions and emergency response procedures are adequate and are identified for each location.


Emergency Response & Safety Systems:

Develop and maintain emergency response plans and ensure that fire protection systems are effective.
Coordinate and ensure that at least two emergency evacuations are carried out annually.
Promote safety awareness and behaviors through staff communication sessions and employee engagement forums.


Policy Development & Implementation:

Develop and update the site safety statement and policy in partnership with Frontier Energy management.
Ensure all employees are periodically communicated on the safety statement and policies.
Provide direction and advice to site management on implementing Health & Safety legislation and best practices to meet company objectives and goals.


Leadership & Mentorship:

Lead and coach the Safety team, including facilities staff, to ensure they deliver excellence to both internal and external customers.
Support the review and assessment of site modifications and provide technical safety input.
Drive continuous improvement efforts through trend reporting, analysis, and cost-conscious management.
Actively promote and increase awareness of safe work practices, both for the company staff and contractors.
Interprets, applies and advises on compliance with federal, state & local laws which regulate the use of hazardous materials within the facility
Maintains company environmental, health and safety resources and consults with researchers regarding the availability and use of this information
Identifies needed policy and procedure changes to ensure safety of company employees in conjunction with safety representatives and department management
Plans and conducts safety training for new and current employees
Works with department management to select treatment or disposal methods which minimize liability, exposure and economic impact
Perform other duties as assigned.


Education:

Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Health and Safety, or a related discipline is required.


Experience:

Minimum of 3 years of relevant Environmental/Health/Safety experience within field service, service industry or other related industry, or an equivalent combination of education, training, or experience.
Strong EH&S compliance knowledge
Hold a current Safety Certification is preferred, example OSHA Outreach Trainer (General Industry)

Excellent communication, organizational, and presentation skills.
Ability to interpret and apply relevant safety legislation and regulatory compliance procedures.
Ability to respond to inquiries or complaints from clients, regulatory agencies, or other stakeholders.
Self-starter with demonstrated problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization and third parties.
Proficiency in MS Office and other relevant software tools.


Desirable Skills:

Knowledge in electrical and field work.
Strong analytical skills, with experience in risk assessment, process hazards analysis, and industrial hygiene.
Proven ability to coach, mentor, influence and lead teams to deliver EHS excellence.


Work Environment & Conditions:

This position may involve travel between various sites (office, field and labs)
Field safety-related walk-throughs and audits.
