JOB SUMMARY
This position will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing environmental health and safety programs to ensure compliance with regulations and promote a safe working environment. Your primary goal will be to protect the health and safety of employees, visitors, and the surrounding environment while minimizing risks and ensuring regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities include:
•Inspect and evaluate the environment, equipment and processes in working areas to ensure compliance with government safety regulations and industry standards
•Identify potentially hazardous biological, chemical and radiological materials and collect samples of them for analysis.
•Manages Safety Staff and leads them to execute on all Safety programs, initiatives, and requirements.
•Recommend changes to protect workers, and educate employees on how to prevent health problems through the use of safety training programs. Provide Environmental, Health and Safety leadership
•Develops, reviews, implements, and maintains required Environment and Health and Safety policies and procedures by managing them to meet requirements
•Possess knowledge of laws, government regulations and practices related to OSHA
•Subject Matter Expert for Safety Program — Prevention Focused
•Collaborate with regulatory agencies and external stakeholders on EHS matters, permits, and compliance issues.
•Coordinate all Safety Training, Communications, and Metrics, including orientations and other required trainings
•Fosters new ideas to improve the existing Safety Program
•Monitor safety action items, assign responsible party to take corrective action and maintain records for follow up.
•Coordinate the investigation of all incidents, root cause analysis and action items Identifies health and safety concerns by surveying operations, occupational conditions, investigating violations and recommending prevention programs
•Audits, tracks and enforces all Safety Training and workplace practices
•Maintains compliance with all state and federal regulations
•Stay current on EHS regulations and industry best practices, and implement changes as necessary to maintain compliance and continuous improvement.
•Develop and maintain EHS metrics and reports to track performance, identify trends, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
•Serve as the primary point of contact for EHS-related inquiries, concerns, and emergencies.
•Additional items as assigned by Manager.

This position interacts with all employees, specifically with shop floor employees, Plant Leadership, vendors, customers, and other applicable third parties.
COMPETENCY OR POSITION REQUIREMENTS
•Able to read, interpret and prepare documents, instructions and procedure manuals.
•Able to write routine reports and correspondence.
•Able to clearly present ideas, arguments, both written and oral relative to formulating internal policy and procedures.
•Able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
•Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other relevant regulations and standards.
•Excellent PC skills, word processing, spreadsheet, and data base.

•Understand, promote, train and ensure compliance of the QMS within the managed department.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
•Safety specific Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years’ experience in Safety role; and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
•Previous experience in EHS management, preferably in a manufacturing or metal fabrication environment, preferred.
•Safety and/or Environmental Certifications. preferred.
EQUIPMENT USED
This position will use a personal computer, telephone, and copier/fax/scanner on a daily basis.
WORKING AND PHYSICAL CONDITIONS
This position will spend a majority of the time on the shop floor, walking and standing. Additionally, time will be spent in an office environment.
