About this opportunity:
We are looking for engineering students in the Engineering Internship Program for a 16-month work term commencing in May 2026. Paramount Resources Engineering Interns will be placed on two eight-month assignments in Drilling Engineering and Completions Engineering.
The Engineering Internship program is part of Paramount’s overall New Graduate Recruitment program which also includes the Summer Student and Rotational New Grad (EIT) positions.
This position is based in-person, in our downtown Calgary office.
What you’ll be doing:
- You will be exposed to typical engineering responsibilities in the assignment area. Engineering areas include: Drilling Engineering (8 months) and Completions Engineering (8 months).
- In Drilling Engineering, you will be responsible for the infrastructure maintenance of oil and gas fields and gain a foundational understanding of process flow and piping. You will have the opportunity to assist senior engineers with building execution programs for drilling at specific wells.
- In Completions Engineering, you will be responsible for planning, designing, and executing operations within the completions group. You will be able to review performance and adjacent wells within Paramount’s scope to analyze competitiveness within the oil and gas sector.
- You will be supervised and mentored by a Senior Engineer within the group during your internship period.
- You will be encouraged to go on field visits to acquire a better understanding of field and servicing Drilling & Completions within a team.
- You are currently in your 3 rd or 4 th year enrolled in a Petroleum, Mechanical, Chemical, Energy, Oil and Gas, Electrical, or Civil Engineering program.
- You are currently enrolled in a Bachelor of Engineering Program at one of the following institutions: University of Calgary, University of Saskatchewan, or Queens.
- You are admitted to the Engineering Internship Program.
- You are eligible to work in Canada.
- You are someone with previous oil and gas experience (field experience considered an asset).
- You are able to work effectively in a team environment.
- You are someone who values feedback as a learning tool.
- You are motivated, hard-working and determined to achieve superior results.
- You are focused and have a keen attention to detail.

- You have a valid driver’s license and two or more years of driving experience.
- You have a strong obligation to accountability.
- You have strong computer skills including data analysis and MS Office skills.
- You have demonstrated effective decision-making skills.
- You have good communication and presentation skills.
