Job entails working in an industrial environment. Duties include CAD drawing development, documentation gathering, process analysis, and working with operations to optimize plant processes. Become intimate with process optimization and/or automation & electrical integration of new and existing equipment.
- Assisting with upgrading control systems for existing robotic packaging lines.
- Documenting control systems panels and electrical wiring.
- Assisting with process optimization and continuous improvement
The following are some key highlights of the internship:
- Drawing development will be done using AutoCAD and may entail modifications to process, electrical, mechanical, and site drawings.
- Utilize software analysis tools for optimizing plant processes.
- Coordinate with operators and production supervisors to implement, track, and test process optimizations.
- Instrument and automation equipment selection, integration, and optimization.
- PLC and HMI development.
- Training will be provided; must be willing to learn and take on projects. Position is 40 hours per week during the summer months and optionally, up to15 hours per week when school is in session.
- Experience with AutoCAD, Excel, and Historian analysis software.
- Experience with PLC and HMI software.
