Drilling & Completions Technician

Whitecap Resources Inc. ("Whitecap") is a Canadian oil & natural gas company that pays a monthly cash dividend to its shareholders. Since September 2009, Whitecap has experienced remarkable growth, increasing production from 850 boe/d to over 365,000 boe/d. We have unconventional and conventional assets exclusively focused in Western Canada and the asset base includes the Weyburn EOR Project. As a majority owner and operator of the Weyburn EOR Project, annually we safely sequester approximately 1.5 million tonnes of CO 2 making it a unique project within our portfolio.

We currently employ 1,200 people, including our valued contract staff.

Position Overview:

The Drilling and Completions Technician works within a multi-disciplinary, asset-based team environment. The role requires strong organizational skills with the ability to effectively communicate with Calgary and Field staff, as well as third parties and Regulators.

Key Job Accountabilities

- Preparation and submission of regulatory applications supporting Drilling, Completions and Workovers

- Timely submission and accuracy of all end-of-well data

- Disseminate data to industry partners and internally manage recordkeeping of non-op data

- Coordinate and manage operational audits

- Track capital projects and accruals

- Prepare and track AFE’s

- Electronic wellfile creation and management

- Invoice approvals

- Provide technical support to the asset team

Primary Qualifications and Skills:

- Minimum 10 years of operational experience in the oil and gas industry

- Relevant post-secondary education is a benefit (e.g., Engineering Technician Certificate)

- Self-starter, able to multi-task and prioritize various initiatives

- Requires strong organizational and communication skills

- Works well in a team environment with strong interpersonal skills

- Efficient with Microsoft Office products

- Experience with Petrosight, Geoscout, Aucerna Execute, and Production Manager is beneficial

- Experience and familiarity with regulatory data portals (OneStop, DDS)
