The Opportunity
We are seeking a detail-oriented professional with a passion for operational details to join our team as a Drilling and Completions Tech. In this role, you will be instrumental in supporting our drilling, completions, and workover operations, tackling everything from well permitting and data management to cost tracking and end-of-well documentation. Your technical expertise and strong grasp of data will be essential as you help us navigate complex projects and ensure our operations run smoothly and efficiently. Location
This role is a hybrid position based out of our office in Morgantown, WV and will be expected work onsite in the office three days per week.
What You Will Be Doing
As a Drilling and Completions Tech, you'll play a key role in ensuring our operations are efficient, compliant, and data-driven. Your responsibilities will include:
- Collaborate across teams: Work with Land, Accounting, and GIS to compile deliverables for well proposals.
- Manage data and documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date drilling and completions data, reports, and schematics. Perform daily quality checks on all incoming field data to ensure it's complete and accurate.
- Track performance and costs: Track and analyze key metrics to identify opportunities for performance improvement. Assist with cost tracking and AFE (Authorization for Expenditure) reconciliation.
- Support key processes: Help prepare end-of-well reports and lessons learned documentation. Work closely with engineers to track materials and support all operational needs.
- Ensure compliance: Make sure all documentation aligns with regulatory, environmental, and corporate requirements.
- Provide timely support: Participate in daily operations calls and provide data as needed. Assist the Director of D&C with gathering and preparing data for end-of-month business reviews.
- Diploma or associate’s/bachelor’s degree in petroleum technology or engineering
- A minimum of 3 yrs of relevant experience in Drilling, Completions, or Production tech roles with a strong understanding of the business
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively across the business
- Excellent organizational skills and acute attention to detail and formatting
- Proficient in MS Office Suite, WellView, Spotfire, and Power BI
- Strong work ethic and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
- Time management awareness and the ability to prioritize requested deliverables
- Must be able to see, hear, talk and perform tasks requiring manual dexterity and visual acuity; kneel, sit, stand, walk, crouch, stoop, reach, pull, push and other similar, repetitive tasks requiring physical activity.
- Able to operate standard office/computer equipment.
- Must be able to perform physical work – exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
