Summary: Provides general manufacturing and design expertise to support customer requirements and continuously improve safety, quality, yield, and throughput of manufacturing operations. Leads projects to implement new products, processes and materials into the production phase in order to improve cost competitiveness and customer satisfaction.
Essential Duties:
•Develops, evaluates, improves and designs manufacturing methods and processes.
•Analyzes and plans work force utilization, space requirements and workflow and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
•Confers with planning and design staff concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods.
•Create, understand and interpret engineering drawings, process specifications and design intents. Understand and interprets 3D models. Understand and interpret geometric tolerance, design intent, and primary design features.
•Confers with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials or parts and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards.
•Develops mechanical design and drafting of products and production jigs and machinery.
•Performs cost studies to determine lowest cost of manufacturing and coordinates the implementation of these changes.
•Confers with management, engineering and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules and other considerations to facilitate production processes.
•Applies statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential.
•Analyzes manufacturing process flows continually for the enhancements of quality, cost reduction, and throughput.
•Provides engineering support in production department to trouble shoot and resolve technical problems.
•Supports company policies and procedures, goals and objectives and goods manufacturing practices.
•Designs maintenance strategies, procedures and methods, organizes routine servicing schedules.
Education/Experience:
•Bachelor's degree (B. S.) in Mechanical Engineering from a four-year college or university or equivalent combination of education and experience.
•Experience in Roll forming and Sheet Metal Processing would be a benefit.
Computer Skills:
•Must be highly proficient in both 2 & 3D drawings as well as all Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Power Point) and Outlook.

Travel:
•Domestic Travel will form a large part of the job as the successful candidate will be responsible for projects in 3 plants, albeit with the majority of the work in Bristol, CT. Expect to travel once or twice per month. International travel will also be required to visit suppliers, trade shows, etc. This will be infrequent.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
