Reporting to the Manager, Field Operations, the District Supervisor utilizes industry, electrical trade and system related knowledge and experience to directly oversee an assigned work force of skilled trades Linepersons. They will manage the daily operation and prioritization of work to support the planned, reactive and emergency work programs in construction, maintenance, operations and customer tasks such as connections and event resolution.
The District Supervisor will be accountable to maintain high levels of personal and team response to deliver system reliability and customer service performance. This position provides after-hours support and supervision of power restoration activities for routine and emergency purposes as required.
Furthermore, the District Supervisor will be responsible to administer work and provide support as required to ensure that work is completed in a safe, cost effective and efficient manner by managing time commitments, quality and financial performance while complying with standard construction practices. This position ensures that the company’s policies, safe work practices, work methods, work rules, and the rules and regulations of all other authorities having jurisdiction in the district, or for the type of work, are followed at all times.
Duties & Responsibilities•Supervise multiple crews and assign work programs for the district.
•Provides management feedback on development, safety management, performance and attendance within a unionized environment.
•Supports projects from conceptual design and manages all construction activities including liaising with various internal and external stakeholders/contractors to organize and plan work related to team project or site tasks ensuring safety, timeliness, cost and quality targets are achieved.
•Provides technical and operational expertise ensuring all Elexicon Energy standards are followed.
•Ensures equipment installations are in compliance with regulatory requirements, ESA, Utility Standards, Municipal consent requirements, etc.
•Leads plans and processes for proactive safety and environmental programs.
•Conducts crew site safety and performance inspections.
•Leads safety meetings, participates in incident investigations and supports resolution of safety issues.
•Participates in the evaluation of new tools, processes and equipment to support team safety and productivity performance improvements.
•System standby duties including site chief responsibilities in the event of major system failures.
•Participates in after-hours call out for restoration of power during emergency reactive events.
•In the course of carrying out duties, be required to represent Elexicon Energy in meetings with outside agencies including, but not limited to IHSA, MEA, Ministry of Environment, Ministry of Labour, cities/towns within Elexicon Energy service territories, Mutual Assistance response leadership as well as local Fire, Police, Bell, Gas and Cable services.

Key Skills & Qualifications
•Thorough knowledge of electrical overhead, underground, network and URD systems, operating practices standards, equipment, materials and engineering records systems.
•Knowledge of OHSA, Electrical Utility Safety Rules and relevant safety, electrical and environmental legislation and regulations.
•Familiar with reading electrical drawings, work protection codes, feeder/operating prints, overhead, underground work practices and standards.
•Familiar with various computer systems/applications including eCompliance, accident/incident investigation techniques, work management and general office automation tools.
•Knowledge of emergency management practices.
•Understands and utilizes the actions and behaviors necessary to create organizational change and unity within One Culture principles.

Minimum Requirements
•High School Graduation Certification or equivalent.
•Journeyperson Linesperson (Power Line Technician) Certificate. Candidates with equivalent related education, experience and certification may also be considered.
•Minimum of 7 years’ experience as a certified Journeyperson Linesperson.
•3-5 years of supervisory/leadership experience working in the electrical field; a combination of leadership and training experience may be considered.
•Minimum of 10 years of experience in the electrical utility industry, involved in electrical construction, maintenance, and operations of all electrical distribution systems.
•Class DZ license (AZ preferred).
