Job Description:
Smith-Emery has an exciting opportunity for a team oriented, self-starter to join our Field Operations Team as Dispatch Specialist. This position supports the Field Operations and Inspections Departments and is responsible for scheduling inspections, scheduling sample pick-up’s, fielding client questions and assisting in the recruitment of qualified and appropriately certified construction inspectors. The successful candidate will report directly to the Field Operation’s director and will be expected to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment. Duties & Responsibilities:
•Maintain roster database of certified inspection personnel
•Field phone calls and dispatch requests from clients and follow up with confirmation of dispatch, the dispatched inspectors information etc.
•Coordinate closely with inspection supervisors and Operation’s Director to ensure inspections are performed by appropriately qualified and certified inspection personnel
•Coordinate with accounting department to ensure project set up is complete in the accounting system to ensure accurate billing by accounting department
•Develop creative and cost effective solutions to fulfill important and/or last minute inspection requests by client
•Follow record keeping and safety procedures in accordance with company Quality Manual
Job Qualifications:
•Must be a self-starter and possess professionalism in work ethic
•Proficiency with the Microsoft Suite of Programs as well as ability to be trained and be proficient with our internal software system
•Must be customer service oriented and eager to help clients
•Must be able to multi-task and work as a team with co-workers
