Overview:
The Director Power Electronics Engineering Team Lead is responsible for all GridBridge Power Electronics New Product Development (NPD) activities in our Raleigh, NC Advanced Development Center. This role requires full technical product development lifecycle expertise & proven experience starting with customer requirements through New Product Introduction (NPI) to pilot manufacturing & deployments. This role involves technical & commercial collaboration with our customers, partners as well as key supply chain & technology partners. It also requires collaboration with internal resources across the ERMCO Enterprise such as Finance, Strategy and PMO.
Position Structure:
The Director Power Electronics Engineering Team Lead is a full-time position located at the Raleigh, NC Advanced Development Center.
Responsibilities:
•Mentor and develop the NPD Team members including project leaders to individual contributors across all disciplines (Hardware, Software, DSP/Controls, Mechanical/Thermal) fostering a culture of continuous learning, innovation, self-improvement; adopting best practices and striving for Excellence in all we carry-out.
•Continuously work and collaborate with our project leaders to understand their R&D project expenses, CAPEX and development tool challenges, addressing the most business critical as a priority while maintaining close control on the operating budget and product delivery timelines.
•Lead & collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Product Management, Procurement & Manufacturing, to improve the effectiveness of our Product Development Team
•Negotiate cost effective and fair component pricing agreements with our key technology partners and development partners. Have a keen understanding of what constitutes value to both parties to promote lasting and fair relationships.
•Carry out team management responsibilities in accordance with ERMCO policies and applicable laws. This includes interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning and directing work, appraising performance, coaching, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving issues and incidents.
Qualifications:
•Professional undergraduate or graduate degree in a technical/engineering field with proven technical and commercial leadership experience and skills in a product development environment.
•10+ years of a proven track record in developing and bringing power electronics based products to market that deliver real business value to the end customers
•Effective leadership, communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate with external technical and commercial resources as well as internal cross-functional teams
•Thoughtful and organized leader with the ability actively analyze and pivot to problem solve, managing all assigned tasks and meet customer timelines.
•Adaptable and resilient, able to navigate complex challenges and drive improvement and change.
•Highly organized, responsive, detail oriented with a focus on Finishing and Delivering! (activity is easy, productivity is hard!)
•Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, working across all levels of the organization, including executive leadership.
•Strong team & project management skills, achieving team commitment and timely deliverables.
•Proven track record of implementing and managing process improvements and technological advancements related to product development, NPI and piloting our new products.
