Reporting to the Senior Vice President of CEI,
Director of Sales – Natural Gas
leads a remote team of sales professionals to grow Commercial and Industrial sales in markets on the East Coast. The successful candidate will foster close working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the sales organization’s efficient operation and success.
Director of Sales
will support customer visits with the sales team or individually as applicable.
Director of Sales
must be able to coach and mentor a virtual team to foster an environment of continual professional growth and development.
Director of Sales
will lead the sales team to achieve annual volume and margin targets.
JOB EXPECTATIONS/DUTIES
•General management of the natural gas sales activity to include people, process and performance.
•Facilitate a sales and operations environment that builds and maintains professional and profitable business relationships with our current and prospective customers.
•Enable and empower organic growth by providing constructive sales feedback to team, leading by example, and fostering a customer-driven sense of urgency.
•Expand the company’s presence in East Coast markets.
•Develop a cohesive One Team Culture through engagement with remote organization who are accountable for established sales territories.
•Manages the Customer Portfolio through management review processes to establish forecasts and analysis of actual performance against the budget. Oversees sales process through contract generation and implementation. Responsible for reporting on sales productivity and customer profitability.
•Implement and execute dynamic portfolio pricing and margin optimization/strategies.
•Direct engagement with strategic customer relations and ownership of the customer experience.
•Ensure all sales comply with industry regulations and company policies.
•Maintain ethical business practices and uphold the company’s reputation.
•Partner with marketing to execute the marketing strategy for the natural gas business while remaining aligned to the marketing strategy of Colonial Energy and Colonial Group.
•Company representative/ambassador at industry conferences and events.
•Implements CRM strategy and discipline.
•Other projects and duties may be assigned.
Qualifications/Requirements
•Bachelor’s degree in business, Energy Management, or a related field. Advanced degree or industry certifications (e.g., in energy management or gas operations).
•5+ years of successful previous experience in a sales leadership position, preferably in the natural gas industry.
•Strong business and sales acumen required.
•Strong attention to detail.
•Thrives in a fast-paced market-facing environment.
•Previous experience/exposure with/to CRM required, Microsoft Dynamics preferred.
•Outstanding communication (oral, writing and presentation skills).
•Demonstrated ability to work well across multiple teams and work styles in a corporate environment.
•Experience with Microsoft Office Suite – PowerBI, Microsoft Dynamics preferred.
•Acquisition integration experience preferred.
•Team and organization builder capable of instilling a family culture in the organization.
