The Director of Procurement and Purchasing is responsible for overseeing all procurement and purchasing operations across the organization. This includes developing procurement strategies, managing suppler relationships, and ensuring cost-effective acquisition of goods and services while maintaining high standards of quality and compliance.
Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with company goals.
Lead and manage the procurement and purchasing team.
Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers and vendors.
Develop Supplier Performance KPI's to measure and drive continuous improvement and adherence to standards
Maintain optimal levels of inventory while minimizing carrying cost
Monitor supplier performance and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
Coordinate with internal departments to understand material and service needs.
Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements for purchasing.
Maintain accurate procurement records, reports, and data analytics.
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field (Master's preferred).
Minimum of 7 years of experience in procurement or purchasing, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
Strong knowledge of procurement best practices, contract law, and supply chain management.
Proficiency with mainstream ERP systems or Epicor's Profit 21, procurement software, Outlook, and Microsoft Office Suite, including proficiency with Excel.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
The Director of Procurement and Purchasing is located in the Broussard, LA, branch and reports to the CFO/ Executive Management. Hours are generally 8 AM to 5 PM, with OT as needed. Physical demands are minimal and typically require the following: 80% sitting, 10% walking, and 10% standing. Light lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling, and some fine finger dexterity is required.
Director of Procurement and Purchasing training is generally to be carried out at the Broussard, LA location, but may be carried out at any location that may hire for this position. The CFO is responsible for the Director of Procurement and Purchasing's training. When possible, the training will be directed by the CFO and/ or Executive Management, conducted with the assistance of an incumbent Director of Procurement and Purchasing, and/or General Manager, as appropriate.
