We are currently seeking a Director of Estimating that will support work within the North Americas.
What you'll do:
•Develop cost and schedule estimates for new and on-going projects
•Coordinate with Development, Construction, and Operations groups to ensure consistency across the organization
•Identify project indicative costs, economic feasibility and risk areas
•Perform, or cause to perform, material and balance of system quantity takeoffs
•Coordinate with material and service providers for bids, proposals, and negotiation
•Standardize company estimating processes and procedures
•Identify and integrate software tools to support effective work flow and information management
•Develop and manage estimation reference database
•Adopt and use analytical methods such as trending, historical performance, and time studies to support and increase accuracy
•Develop continuous improvement methods, creating flexibility to lead and keep functional pace with market and partner strategies
•Identify and implement methods for functional improvement
What you'll
bring:
•Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, accounting specialties, or equivalent; or 10+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
•Experience estimating civil and site specific costs relating to post driving, trenching, storm water management, and general site productivity given site specific sub-surface and related geotechnical, hydrological and local climate information
•Experience in estimating large utility scale solar projects, demonstrating competence in hard-bid, design-build, and conceptual estimating
•Experience in PV industry including interacting with vendors and service providers
•Experience in interconnect, substation and gen-tie estimating
•Willing to travel to project sites as required to support estimating process
•Working knowledge of Timberline, Excel, and Microsoft Office products
•Ability to work under pressure, meets tight deadlines, and coordinate team members
•Ability to present information in clear succinct manor
•Knowledge of and experience with general construction practices
•Working knowledge of AutoCAD
•Knowledge and experience in EPC estimating practices and methods, including demonstrated ability to organize, perform, and present cost estimating products
•Skilled in the calculation of productivity-affected burdened labor rates and the impact of civil, subsurface and storm-water conditions.
•In-depth knowledge of project schedules and ability to predict/extrapolate costs curves based on experience of scheduled- activities/cost correlation analysis.
•Knowledgeable of manual labor performance, equipment production and derivation of composite craft/category labor rates in union and non-union environments.
