Motiva is seeking an experienced Director of Contractors and Procurement supporting project execution strategy development and leading all contracting and procurement efforts within our Major Capital Projects (MCP) group. This role is a critical member of the MCP leadership team, reporting directly to the Vice President of Major Capital Projects, and will directly support a complex, multi-billion-dollar capital investment program. The successful candidate will oversee the MCP groups development of project execution strategies through quantitative and qualitative analysis that identify risks to execution and associated mitigations resulting in robust execution strategy decisions. The role is responsible for all commercial activities in the MCP portfolio including commercial strategy development and execution, as well as governance and compliance of all commercial and supply chain activities related to engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) for Motiva’s largest and most strategic initiatives. Finally, the successful candidate functions as the gatekeeper (working alongside the VP of Major Projects) in fostering relationship with key project stakeholders and plays a strategic role acting as a sounding board and experienced resource large organization dynamics and anticipates issues and opportunities that lead to “best-in-class” project execution. This role and successful candidate go beyond a traditional project professional. The incumbent should be well versed in the business operations of a large multinational petrochemical and refining company, which will enable the capital project function to integrate seamlessly into overall business and corporate operations, positioning it as a strategic partner in the company’s growth and a key contributor to achieving business objectives.
