About the Job: As the Director, Business Development – Meter Services, you will lead a strategic growth initiative and cultivate key partnerships with the intention of expanding UPA’s market share and deepening customer engagement with new, former, and existing customers. Your mission will be to develop a robust pipeline with the intention of meeting or exceeding UPA’s Meter Services sales targets. Key Responsibilities
- Spearhead the end-to-end pipeline for Meter Services opportunities and intentionally move Meter Services opportunities through the sales funnel.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with utilities, consultants, and technology partners and become known as a trusted advisor to the industry.
- Facilitate commercial discussions and lead contract negotiations.
- Collaborate with EVP of Commercial Operations, SVP of Metering, and PMO to articulate resource needs and execution plans that align with UPA’s contracts, Statements of Work (SOW), and Service Level Agreements (SLA).
- Deliver actionable market intelligence regarding industry trends, regulatory announcements, and competitor insights to UPA’s senior leadership team.
- Forecast, budget, and report to ensure visibility and alignment with UPA’s goals and objectives.
- Communicate customer needs to UPA staff and participate in the development of new offerings and strategies that enhance UPA’s value proposition and service offering.
- Meet or exceed UPA’s Meter Services sales targets
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent utility experience (Metering or Meter Services experience preferred)
- 5+ years of consultative solution-based selling- Demonstrable success in meeting or exceeding sales targets
- Ability to successfully navigate long-sales cycles
- Ability to actively listen with the intention of understanding complex business challenges and developing unique, value-added service solutions.
- Ability to communicate effectively with a wide array of stakeholders (middle manager to C Suite) and in variety of settings including board-room presentations.- $140,000 - $220,000 salary based on experience + bonus
