Red E Mix LLC (Buzzi Unicem USA) is hiring for a Truck Mechanic for our concrete plant located in the Highland, IL.

Responsibilities

- Read repair orders, observe and listen to vehicle operation, obtain diagnostics information, identify root cause malfunctions, plan work procedures, and perform necessary repairs on a vehicle as authorized

- Perform general and major repair of all truck systems including, engine, transmission, suspension, brakes, HVAC, electronics, and more

- Perform inspections on equipment; report mechanical issues and problems to shop management

- Communicate effectively to ensure efficient repair and diesel fleet mechanic performance

- Ensure parts inventory is adequate to meet repair needs, or report as necessary

- Mount and dismount tires

Qualifications

- Knowledge and/or ability to diagnose, repair service and maintain our heavy duty trucks and trailers - suspension/hydraulic system, air brake systems

- Perform inspections on equipment; report mechanical issues and problems to shop management

- Communicate effectively to ensure efficient repair and diesel fleet mechanic performance

- Valid driver's license; CDL preferred but if not able to obtain one at a later date

- Must pass pre-employment drug screen

- Must meet the medical requirements specified by DOT, as applicable

- Possess basic mechanic tools
