JOB SUMMARY: Perform quality maintenance and repairs to company fleet vehicles.
REPORTS TO: Fleet Manager
DIRECT REPORTS: None
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
•Performs routine preventive maintenance and repairs.
•Performs emergency road-side service and repairs.
•Completes maintenance and repair work, safely, accurately, and timely.
•Communicates with manager any needs or issues.
•Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
•High school diploma or equivalent education.
Diesel Mechanic certification preferred.*
•Minimum 2 years diesel mechanic experience.
•Experience with diesel engines, air brakes and drive trains.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
•Basic reading, writing and math skills.
•Ability to work in a team environment.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
•Exposure to loud noise, grease, gas, oil, fumes, dirt, and dust.
•Exposure to heat and cold.
Physical Demands
•Frequent standing, walking on uneven surfaces, and sitting are required. Frequent climbing up and down ladders/catwalks.
•Lifting may be required, up to 50 pounds.
•Must be able to climb, kneel, bend, crawl, and stand for long periods of time.
•Frequent reaching above shoulders.
•Frequent work in cramped spaces.
•Frequent pushing /pulling tools, parts and leverage devices
•Frequent manipulation of hand tools by grasping and/or fine motor skills
