About This Job

JOB SUMMARY: Perform quality maintenance and repairs to company fleet vehicles.

REPORTS TO: Fleet Manager

DIRECT REPORTS: None

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

•

Performs routine preventive maintenance and repairs.

•

Performs emergency road-side service and repairs.

•

Completes maintenance and repair work, safely, accurately, and timely.

•

Communicates with manager any needs or issues.

•

Other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

•

High school diploma or equivalent education.

Diesel Mechanic certification preferred.*

•

Minimum 2 years diesel mechanic experience.

•

Experience with diesel engines, air brakes and drive trains.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

•

Detail oriented.

•

Basic reading, writing and math skills.

•

Ability to work in a team environment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

•

Garage environment.

•

Exposure to loud noise, grease, gas, oil, fumes, dirt, and dust.

•

Exposure to heat and cold.

Physical Demands

•

Frequent standing, walking on uneven surfaces, and sitting are required. Frequent climbing up and down ladders/catwalks.

•

Lifting may be required, up to 50 pounds.

•

Must be able to climb, kneel, bend, crawl, and stand for long periods of time.

•

Frequent reaching above shoulders.

•

Frequent work in cramped spaces.

•

Frequent pushing /pulling tools, parts and leverage devices

•

Frequent manipulation of hand tools by grasping and/or fine motor skills

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $28.00 per hour
