Diesel Mechanic

About This Job

H&K Excavating, LLC is seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to help our current mechanic maintain and repair machinery and vehicles.

Responsibilities:

•

Preventative Maintenance

•

Troubleshooting and repair of equipment failures

•

Inspect machines, engines, transmissions etc and run diagnostic tests to discover functionality issues

•

Troubleshoot reported problems and resolve them in a timely manner

•

Perform thorough maintenance on trucks, machinery and equipment

•

Undertake other duties as assigned (repair of hydraulic systems, painting vehicles, etc)

•

Keep logs of work and report on issues

•

DOT Inspections

Position Requirements:

•

Experience working with diesel equipment

•

Proven experience as a mechanic

•

Excellent knowledge of machinery and hydraulic, electrical and other systems and their components

•

Ability to follow established procedures and practices

•

Able to work without direct supervision

•

Diagnosing abilities

•

A strong commitment to all health and safety guidelines

•

Good communication skills

•

Very good physical strength and stamina

•

Certification from a vocational school or completion of apprenticeship is desired

•

Valid Certification(e.g ASE) is preferred

•

Welding experience a plus
