Are you in? Primary Purpose: PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION
The primary purpose of this position is to assist Senior level data analytics professionals in the design, planning, and research associated with analysis of departmental business operations, program performance and outcomes. This entry level role is comprised of on the job learning and skill development and application of learning project experience. Position may be required to work extended hours for coverage during storms or other energy delivery emergencies. The primary duties of this position include, but not limited to, the management, governance, analysis and visualization of data; the creation and coordination of project plans; the application of design thinking techniques; and the presentation and communication of insights derived from the data.
- Research data issues, such as missing values and mismatched types, by retrieving, cleansing, and distributing the data as appropriate to resolve discrepancies and provide timely and accurate information to functional area team members
- Ensures the integrity of data through the creation of data standards by supporting the update of data dictionaries, the maintenance of use case documentation, and the documenting of data analysis procedures.
- Gathers report requirements from business partners and project team members to design reports using software or tools such as MS Power BI and MS Excel
- Assists the team in the interpretation of analysis results by building data models and preparing reports on findings that include actionable recommendations
- Contributes to the planning of research on the underlying business drivers that warrant the design and implementation of data analytics projects. Develops project plans utilizing department software tools, such as MS Project, to delineate tasks, deliverables, time/cost estimates.
- Utilizes design thinking techniques to determine proper visual representation(s) (table, graph, chart, etc.) to communicate and present each storytelling instance.
The Data Analytics Apprentice position is structured to offer a two-phase on-the-job learning and skill building experience which will equip the Data Analytics Apprentice with knowledge and skills to address the business department's data management and analysis needs. This will be accomplished by the Data Analytics Apprentice's participation in the Data Analytics Career Pathway Apprenticeship program. As a member of the apprenticeship program, the Data Analytics Apprentice will assist senior level Data Analytics professionals in the planning and execution of data management and analysis projects in support of designated department research and or reporting services. Upon completion of the apprenticeship phase 1 required courses, on the job assignments and projects; and satisfactory performance on the end of phase assessment, the Data Apprentice will advance to the phase 2 of the apprenticeship program. During phase two of the apprenticeship program, the Data Analytics Apprentice will be assigned more complex research & problem resolution assignments while applying data analytics methods learned in the Data Analytics Apprenticeship program phase 1.
This position supports PECO's Data Analytics Career Pathway apprenticeship pilot program.

- Annual salary will vary based on a candidate’s skills, qualifications, experience, and other factors: $44,800.00/Yr. – $61,600.00/Yr.
