Job Description:
The ERRCS/BDA Project Manager will oversee the planning, implementation, and management of ERRCS and BDA systems for various commercial, large residential, and high-rise buildings. This role is responsible for managing projects from start to finish, ensuring that they are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with all local, state, and national codes. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the design, installation, and testing of ERRCS/BDA systems, and will manage both internal teams and external contractors to deliver successful project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
•Project Oversight: Lead and manage the design, installation, and testing of ERRCS/BDA systems in complex commercial and high-rise buildings.
•Client Relations: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring that communication is clear and that all project milestones are met.
•Team Leadership: Coordinate and manage project teams, including engineers, contractors, and subcontractors, ensuring efficient workflow and timely completion of tasks.
•System Design & Implementation: Work closely with design teams to ensure systems meet client needs and regulatory requirements (NFPA, IFC, IBC).
•Budget & Scheduling: Create and manage project budgets and timelines, ensuring that the project stays on track financially and with respect to deadlines.
•Quality Control: Oversee the quality of installation and testing, ensuring that all systems meet performance standards and are fully operational.
•Compliance: Ensure all systems are compliant with local codes, safety regulations, and industry standards (e.g., NFPA 1221, IFC 510, IBC 907).
•Risk Management: Identify potential issues and implement mitigation plans to avoid project delays or complications.
•Documentation & Reporting: Maintain comprehensive records for each project, including status reports, change orders, and final documentation.
•Training & Mentorship: Provide training and guidance to junior staff on ERRCS/BDA systems and project management best practices.
Qualifications:
•Experience: 5+ years of experience in managing ERRCS/BDA systems and related projects, with a solid understanding of system design, installation, and testing.
•Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.
•Certifications: PMP (Project Management Professional) or equivalent certification is highly preferred. NICET certification in Fire Alarm Systems (Level II or higher) is a plus.
•Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of ERRCS/BDA systems, including NFPA, IFC, IBC, and related building codes.
•Leadership: Proven ability to lead teams, manage multiple priorities, and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
•Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively interact with clients, engineers, and project teams.
•Software Proficiency: Familiarity with project management software (e.g., MS Project, Procore) and general office software (MS Office).
•Problem Solving: Strong troubleshooting, risk management, and problem-solving skills.
•Physical Requirements: Ability to travel to job sites and lift up to 50 lbs as needed.
