As a Customer Service Representative, you will be responsible for entering customers’ purchase orders in a timely and accurate manner to ensure error-free processing through the order entry system
- Determines the most accurate method of entering all customers’ orders, including EDI orders, in the computer system in a timely manner
- Communicates as necessary with PLP personnel, plants, reps, and customers to resolve any problems with specific orders
- Processes in a prompt manner rush/storm orders and communicates to the expediter for special process handling
- Provides phone coverage as needed as part of the Customer Service Call Group.
- Processes new customer accounts/profiles and communicates to Accounting Department with financial information
- Assist when needed, verifying order accuracy by proofing IFS order screens with customers’ raw orders prior to releasing orders to the plants for scheduling and shipping
- Processes and/or assistance with Customers’ Point of Sale reports for representatives’ commission processing
- Performs as relief Switchboard/Receptionist backup when needed
- Minimum high school diploma. Specialized business education or a degree in an applicable discipline is helpful.
- One to three years of Customer Service experience
- Proficiency with computer software, specifically Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
- Ability to interpret and assist with customer requests
