Laclede Electric Cooperative has an immediate opening for a full-time Customer Service Representative in our Lebanon office. As a Customer Service Representative, you'll be on the front lines of our member experience, acting as a liaison between Laclede Electric and the community we proudly serve. This role is more than just answering phones—it's about building relationships, upholding trust, and ensuring our members feel supported, informed, and valued.
- Handle service requests (new contracts, transfers, disconnections, etc.) and assist members with payment via phone, in person, or computer
- Process payments, deposits, memberships, and construction aid charges
- Monitor and manage delinquent accounts, payment arrangements, and refunds
- Research unpaid bills and process billing adjustments
- Educate members on budget billing and energy efficiency
- Take outage calls, input data, and ensure timely follow-up
- Issue and monitor service orders for AMI meter readings
- Review pre-bill reports and meter readings for accuracy
- Assist with cashier duties, mail processing, archiving, and banking runs as needed
- Excellent communication skills—verbal, written, and interpersonal
- Strong computer proficiency and administrative ability
- Independent thinker with solid judgment
- Team player who can collaborate cross-departmentally
- Calm under pressure, cool with multi-tasking
- Associate’s Degree in Communications or Business Administration preferred
- Equivalent experience considered; previous office experience preferred
- Able to sit, stand, kneel, and lift up to 25 lbs as needed
- Strong visual focus
- Valid driver’s license
- Must pass a drug screening
