Duckett Creek Sanitary District is now accepting applications for the position of Customer Service Representative I.
This position answers incoming calls and assists walk-in customers. Supports residential and commercial customers with billing questions, processing payments, and resolving account related issues, including those that are delinquent.
o Answer telephone calls, route incoming calls, and take messages as needed.
o Assist customers, both by phone and in person, with account and billing inquiries, including processing payments.
o Respond to voicemails and general inquiry emails directed to the Customer Service Department.
o Respond to New Service Request emails from District website.
o Manage in-house cash collections, including daily balancing of the cash drawer.
o Organize and scan daily check batches, ensuring accurate posting to accounts and preparing deposits.
o Complete End of Day Process; prepare receipts for bank deposit for next business day.
o Calculate and process supplemental billing for closed ("finaled") accounts.
o Update tenant and landlord account information; monitor final payments and transfer balances to landlords as appropriate.
o Update customer records with address or name changes and property occupancy status.
o Calculate and prepare account adjustments for review and approval.
o Maintain detailed and accurate customer account records.
o Monitor new construction spreadsheets; ensure new occupancies are entered into the billing system.
o Provide coverage for the Customer Service Representative I - Front Desk during daily lunch breaks or in their absence.
o Assist the Customer Service Manager in updating procedural manuals annually and prior to audits.
o Perform miscellaneous office and clerical tasks as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES which may be representative but not all inclusive of those commonly associated with this position: Familiarity with standard customer account collection procedures, Accurate typing and data entry skills, Ability to maintain complex files, Generate reports, and retrieve information as needed, Ability to maintain composure while working under pressure and interacting with the public, Effective communication with supervisors, colleagues and customers, Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, Strong analytical and common-sense decision-making abilities, Ability to work independently under established procedures, referring exceptions to the supervisor.
EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS and EXPERIENCE REQUIRED An equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered: High school diploma or equivalent required, Minimum 1-3 years of clerical and/or customer service experience required.
