This Maintenance Mechanic position is responsible for working on a team responsible for the maintenance of all company vehicles and equipment. Tasks includes consist of PMs and repairs. All work performed must adhere to the highest standards in terms of quality and safety, and must meet the requirements of all Federal, State, and local regulations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
•Track vehicle service intervals by monitoring hours of miles of vehicle.
•Perform inspections both according to program outline or as needed.
•Routine maintenance, PMs.
•Review DVIRs, and Work order requests.
•Order parts, maintain inventory.
•Make timely and accurate repairs both scheduled and unscheduled.
•Check cranes, trucks, material handlers, shears, trailers, lift trucks, loaders, skid-steers, balers, and other equipment for safe and proper functionalities.
•Inspect and repair equipment with faults and malfunctions.
•Diagnose faults or malfunctions to determine the extent of repair required.
•Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components or systems, using hand and power tools.
•Test repaired equipment for proper performance and ensure that work meets manufacturer’s specifications.
•Maintain attachments and working tools such as blades, winches, grapples, buckets, claws, forks, booms, and rotators to manufacturing specifications.
•Perform repair work on heavy trucks, heavy equipment, devices and things.
•Inspect and test operation of instruments and systems to diagnose faults using pneumatic, mechanical and electronic testing devices and precision measuring instruments.
•Perform scheduled preventative maintenance work and complete test and maintenance reports.
Peripheral Duties
•Pick up or deliver vehicles for off site repairs.
•Assist in the maintenance of other equipment, not considered “rolling stock”.
•Repairs relating to building or grounds.
Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
•3-5 years of experience in heavy equipment repair, service and diagnosis on heavy equipment, including, but not limited to: metal baler, Bobcat, crane, shear
•Ability to weld is an asset
•Forklift Certificate is an asset
•First Aid/CPR Certificate is an asset
•Heavy Equipment Certificate is an asset
•Experience working in a scrap yard is an asset
•Must have working knowledge relating to the care, maintenance and repair of “Heavy Trucks” and related equipment
•Must possess the skills needed to operate equipment and tools necessary to complete tasks.
•Must be able to work with minimal supervision
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
Expected hours: 45 – 50 per week
