We are actively looking to fill the following Full-time role based in Sudbury, Ontario.

Scope of the role
The Cost Accountant works with the Accounting Group to provide accurate accounting of costs for the mine. The Cost Accountant is responsible for the effective reporting of internal financial records and analyses. Attention to detail, analytical skills and effective time management are required to carry out duties within the prescribed deadlines.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities
•Ensure accurate and timely financial records are kept as per G.A.A.P. and company accounting policies;
•Month end reconciliation of FNX payroll amounts and HST paid for intercompany transfers of cash between FNX and Victoria;
•Record Buy/sell cash transactions & cash calls from corporate;
•Complete, record and register A/R invoices for approvals;
•Reconcile and complete monthly PREPAID additions and allocations;
•Contra month end costs to appropriate Balance sheet asset accounts in consultation with Manager of Finance/Sr. Accountant. Classify as complete-plant, property, equipment or AUC plant or equipment;
•Accrual reconciliation monthly;
•Esso P Card Reconciliation;
•Department cost reports as required (i.e. H&S);
•Develop/Ensure that solid lines of communication are maintained with operating, support and technical departments;
•Provide hourly payroll information for calculation of hourly production incentive (future);
•Ensure all invoices, work orders and purchase orders are properly cost coded and approved;
•Prepare Month end accruals, allocations and journal entries;
•Such other duties as may be assigned from time to time including month end general ledger reconciliations;
•Prepare Audit Binder reconciliations & assemble audit binder as required quarterly. Paper and scanned copies;
•Provide information as required for audit requests;
•Takes responsibility for aspects of occupational health and safety, and environmental matters, over which the individual has control, including adherence to all requirements applicable to KGHM International.
•Such other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Qualifications, Skills and Knowledge
•2 to 5 years of accounting experience;
•Thorough knowledge of financial and accounting practices and procedures;
•Understanding of governmental regulations and reporting requirements;
•Understanding of related auditing and IT functions;
•Diploma or Degree in Business, Finance or Accounting and working towards an accounting designation;
•Strong oral and written communication skills;
•Solid analytical and technical skills;
•Knowledge of JD Edwards Software;
•Intermediate level knowledge of Microsoft Office.

•Shift Schedule - Monday to Friday Dayshift.
