Cosmetic - Jr/Sr R&D Chemist

Jr/Sr R&D Chemist’s role is responsible for the formulation of hair, skin and body formulations. This requires interaction with our customers and sales representatives. The job entails a responsibility that formulas meet expected performance, meets regulatory compliances and is transferable to manufacturing scale up. This position will report to the R&D Manager.

Responsibilities:

· Formulation of hair, body and skincare products.

· Comply with regulations and customer’s ingredient preferences.

· Translation of a brand’s concept to a product formulation.

· Ability to scale up from lab batches to production batches.

· Ability to interpret stability results and create shelf stable formulas.

· Ability to mentor lab technicians.

· Assist in pilot/first production batches where needed.

· Troubleshoot production issues alongside QC department.

Qualifications:

· 3+ years’ experience as a cosmetic formulator.

· Requires both math and computer skills.

· Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.

· B.S. in chemistry or related science.

· Excellent verbal and written communications skills with team player mentality

Pay: $49,644.00 - $105,912.00 per year
