Job Summary

The Marathon Martinez Renewable Facility located in Martinez, CA has an opening for a Advanced Refining Laboratory Chemist. The Advanced Chemist serves as the analytical/technical expert in laboratory methods and instruments to support safe, reliable, and compliant laboratory and refinery operations. Duties will include developing and validating test methods, maintenance, repair and troubleshooting of lab instrumentation, ensure laboratory data is valid and compliant with internal/external rules and regulations, training of lab personnel, and lead analytical investigations such as special samples or projects. The position requires strong analytical background, interpersonal skills, and the ability to collaborate across departments. The available schedule for the position are 9/80 and after hours calls are required on average several times a month. Business hours are typically: 7 AM - 4:00 PM.
