The Corporate Capex Engineer will report directly to the Corporate Engineer and will direct contractors, coordinate with engineering firms and others in the planning and execution of capital projects and related activities. The Corporate Capex Engineer will also interact with other members of the Universal management team and the Corporate Engineer to ensure effective communication to support the performance of this function.
Specific Responsibilities
Specific primary responsibilities are defined by the following, but not limited to;
•Develops, implements, and manages capital projects.
•Project plan development including scope, schedule, budget estimate, and risk identification.
•Responsible for new installation and equipment modifications.
•Hands on trouble shooting of complex electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic equipment.
•Designs and implements engineering processes, policies and procedures.
•Identifies and implements process, equipment and functional improvements to improve safety and operational effectiveness.
•Plans and establishes engineering schedules and ensures performance to schedule.
•Ability to travel to all 4 Universal Stainless sites to support engineering efforts

Education and Experience
•Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
•5 Years experience in an engineering role
•5 years experience in an industrial / manufacturing setting
Physical and Other Requirements
•Ability to safely move around in a plant environment; including but not limited to;
•Walking, standing bending lifting 50 lbs.
•Ability to stand, bend and sit for long periods of time.
