Superheat is looking for a Corporate Accounting Analyst - General Accounting to join our Finance team at our Sarnia Office. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented accounting professional looking to contribute to a fast-paced, dynamic organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for a wide range of general accounting functions, supporting financial operations and ensuring accuracy and compliance across various processes.
Responsibilities
•Process day-to-day general journal transactions-including but not limited to: FX Trades, Corrections, Recurring Entries, non-customer receipts and sales accruals
•Monitor and manage expense accounts to ensure funds are available for employee reimbursements and upload weekly reimbursement file
•Assist with month-end closing procedures
•Reconciliation of assigned accounts and maintain the Inter-Company loans spreadsheets
•Ensure accurate and timely payments of state income taxes based on external accounting firm inputs; reconcile tax-related accounts.
•Ensure all registrations are up to date and that legislative compliance is maintained.
•Maintain and update all relevant US business location registrations; ensure compliance with property tax and other regulatory filings
•Maintain the capital obligations spreadsheet
•Support inter-company sales order processes, inventory reconciliation, and fixed asset tracking.
•Oversee the continued reconciliations and reports on a monthly, quarterly and yearly basis
•Compile financial reports and analysis for management decision-making as needed.
•Perform other duties as assigned to support the Finance team.
Qualifications
•Strong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and consistency.
•Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
•Excellent communication and organizational skills.
•High proficiency in Microsoft Excel; strong computer literacy across accounting systems.
•Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting capabilities.
Work and Educational Experience
•5+ years of relevant accounting experience preferred.
•Experience with US accounting systems considered an asset.
•Post-secondary education in accounting, finance, or a related field required.
•Accounting designation (CPA) or currently pursuing designation is considered an asset.
•Completion of accounting coursework or equivalent practical experience.
