As an Accounting Analyst III, you will play a crucial role in providing expertise and mentorship in compiling, analyzing and interpreting financial information for leadership decision-making. This role ensures compliance with requirements and regulations and is a resource for both internal and external customers. Your responsibilities will also include looking for ways to optimize business processes through technology and automation, improving efficiency and reducing costs. Responsibilities/Expectations:

Performs assigned month-end activities including journal entries, account reconciliations, management reporting, SEC reporting and variance analysis
Prepares, maintains and develops schedules, reports, and analyses for internal/external customers
Provides requested documentation and clear explanations for audit processes
Participates in small projects with minimal mentorship and acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience
Processes and analyses significant amounts of data, including issues and transactions
Prepares monthly analysis of depreciation, accretion, asset retirement obligations, and other property, plant and equipment account balances
Collaborates with project managers to identify assets constructed and associated costs; reviews asset allocations for reasonableness
Reviews project data to identify issues, researches appropriate solutions and works closely with partners to implement changes and solutions
Assist with property accounting tasks associated with acquisitions/divestitures
Prepares quarterly and annual FERC Reports
Other duties as assigned


Education/Years of Experience:

Required: Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance or related major with a strong accounting focus and minimum four (4) years' experience in accounting in the energy industry
Preferred: CPA


Other Requirements:

Demonstrates excellent organizational/interpersonal skills and safety as the utmost priority
Proficient use of Microsoft Office applications
Promotes effective cross-functional communication and collaboration within the team and across departments
Strong analytical, problem-solving and financial skills
Preferred: Familiarity with US GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
Preferred: Prior experience in Property Accounting
Preferred: FERC Accounting experience
