Reporting to the Industrial Safety and Security Director, the Industrial Safety and Security Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating the planning, organization, and control of the implementation, application, and coordination of all industrial safety and security activities. He or she will ensure the safety of exploration camp operations while protecting the Company's property. Will work a 14-14 schedule at the Windfall site located 115 km east of Lebel-sur-Quévillon, in the Nord-du-Québec region. Transportation, accommodation, and meals provided.
- Supervise the team of industrial safety and security advisors;
- Coordinate the implementation and maintenance of the Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OHSMS);
- Evaluate, suggest, and implement industrial health and safety policies and programs for site safety and participate in the improvement of these programs;
- Provide advice to managers and employees on health and safety matters;
- Participate in the development of risk analyses and investigations of potentially fatal category 4 or 5 incidents;
- Conduct safety checks and compliance audits;
- Comply with health, safety, and environmental policies and rules at all times, and ensure that staff comply with these rules;
- Participate in the implementation of health, safety, industrial security, and emergency measures for an operational mining site;
- Perform any other duties related to the position that are relevant to the success of the project.
- University degree in occupational health and safety or a related field. A combination of experience and education may be considered;
- Five years of experience in health and safety as well as in mining operations or exploration;
- Supervisory experience;
- Hold a valid Class 5 driver's license.
- Hold an explosives license.
- Possess mining modules (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 7).
- Bilingualism (French and English) is an asset. Will be required to communicate with English-speaking consultants.
- Knowledge of applicable occupational health and safety and mining legislation;
- Knowledge of SGSST;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software (Excel, Outlook, etc.).
- Ability to demonstrate rigor and excellent analytical skills;
- Strong positive leadership skills;
- Good organizational, planning, and priority management skills;
- Good written and verbal communication skills;
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
