Your Role: Project Engineer
As a Project Engineer at AmWest Control, Inc., you'll be a vital contributor to our dynamic Engineering team. This is a pivotal role where you'll take the lead in organizing, designing, and implementing critical electrical, instrumentation, and control projects that power the water and wastewater industry. From the initial bid to successful closeout, you'll be instrumental in ensuring clear communication, high-quality deliverables, and ultimately, project success.
What You'll Do:
•Shape Projects from the Start: Collaborate with our estimating and management teams to clearly define project scopes and set up the infrastructure for seamless communication across all stakeholders – from end-users to our production, programming, and service departments. You'll even get to lend your expertise to the bidding process, ensuring clarity and accuracy for AmWest Control's contributions.
•Innovate & Design: Take the reins in designing, documenting, and securing approval for engineered packages. This includes crafting detailed electrical and control system designs, validating logic control, performing precise load and heat calculations, and ensuring full UL 508A compliance. Your meticulous work will uphold our high standards of Service and adherence to our robust processes.
•Drive Project Execution: Masterfully manage project schedules, ensuring timely completion. You'll coordinate every phase, from material release and fabrication to production, rigorous testing, delivery, installation, documentation, and successful start-up. You'll be the go-to person for resolving scope, technical, and budget challenges, and you'll lead project meetings, fostering effective communication and progress with both internal teams and external partners. Your Accountability will shine as you collaborate with the management and accounting team on project billings.
•Ensure Success & Foster Growth: Bring projects to a successful close by tracking and resolving all punch list items and delivering comprehensive project documentation. Beyond completion, you'll lead "Lessons Learned" meetings, providing valuable feedback to other departments, recognizing outstanding practices, celebrating individual contributions, and recommending crucial process Improvements.
•Champion Collaboration: Maintain strong, clear communication with all project stakeholders – from end-users and direct customers to our internal production, programming, and service teams. Your ability to foster effective Teamwork will be key to every project's success.
Who You Are:
We're looking for a motivated and dynamic individual who brings:
•A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE preferred) or a closely related field.
•A minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in electrical and instrumentation design and coordination, ideally within the water and wastewater industry.
•A foundational understanding of the water and wastewater industry.
•Exceptional quantitative and analytical skills, with a keen eye for detail.
•A solid grasp of the electrical/controls industry.
•An entrepreneurial mindset, always seeking innovative solutions to challenges.
•Outstanding written and oral communication skills, driven by a desire for exceptional Service.
•A self-motivated and detail-oriented professional who is committed to continuous Improvement and refuses to settle for "second best."

Working Environment:
You'll primarily work in a comfortable office setting with a moderate noise level. Occasional travel to project construction sites will be required, offering a change of scenery and direct engagement with our projects. We value flexibility and a healthy work-life balance.
