Sortera Technologies is looking for a Controls Engineer to join our team at our new facility in Lebanon, TN. This role plays a vital part in designing, programming, and maintaining automated control systems. You'll work hands-on with PLCs, HMIs, sensors, and control panels to ensure smooth and efficient plant performance as we grow and scale our Tennessee operations.
Responsibilities
•Design, program, build, and troubleshoot control systems including PLCs, HMIs, motion controls, sensors, and drives
•Conduct system integration, testing, and debugging to ensure functionality and reliability
•Develop, modify, and maintain control system documentation
•Perform troubleshooting and maintenance of equipment and facility electrical systems
•Ensure that projects are planned and executed in a timely and efficient manner and routinely report progress
•Prepare technical manuals, work instructions, training materials, and troubleshooting guides required to support production activities
•Support Preventative Maintenance Planning and Coordination by ensuring all PM plans and tasks are in place to ensure effective maintenance
•Ensure compliance with safety standards, codes, and regulations
•Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
•Minimum of Associate's Degree in Controls Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field required
•Demonstrated ability to write and troubleshoot PLC code and HMI programming
•Ability to create systems designs and documentation in addition to marinating systems developed by others
•Ability to design and build control panels/systems
•Strong analytical skills and ability to solve problems and communicate effectively with little guidance
•Proficient in computer skills in Word and Excel, and CAD
•Excellent oral and written communication skills
•Works well in a team environment
