Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and highly organized Senior Contract Specialist to oversee and manage complex contractual agreements within our organization. The ideal candidate will possess strong negotiation, analysis, and project management skills, with the ability to coordinate cross-functional teams and ensure compliance with organizational policies. Bilingual proficiency in English and French is preferred, along with excellent communication and leadership abilities. - Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of contracts, including procurement, service agreements, and partnership arrangements.
- Manage the entire contract lifecycle from initiation through renewal or termination, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Collaborate with legal, procurement, finance, and other departments to develop contract strategies aligned with organizational goals.
- Maintain comprehensive records of all contractual documents using databases and document management systems such as SharePoint.
- Conduct detailed analysis of contractual terms to identify risks and opportunities for cost savings or process improvements.
- Lead negotiations with vendors, clients, and internal stakeholders to secure favorable terms while maintaining strong professional relationships.
- Develop and deliver presentations on contract status, risk assessments, and strategic initiatives to senior management.
- Ensure adherence to organizational policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards throughout all contractual activities.
- Provide mentorship and leadership to junior team members in contract administration practices.
- Utilize project management tools like Microsoft Project to monitor deadlines, deliverables, and milestones related to contractual projects.
- Proven experience in contract management or procurement within a corporate or government setting.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) as well as specialized tools such as Microsoft Access and SharePoint.
- Demonstrated ability in project management with familiarity in Microsoft Project or similar platforms.
- Bilingual skills in English and French are highly desirable; exceptional communication skills are essential for effective negotiation and stakeholder engagement.
- Experience working with databases and records management systems to organize large volumes of contractual data.
- Excellent analysis skills to evaluate contractual risks, benefits, and compliance issues.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple contracts simultaneously under tight deadlines.
- Previous experience in leadership roles or mentoring junior staff is preferred. This position is integral to maintaining our organization’s contractual integrity while fostering strategic relationships that support our operational objectives.
