Position Summary: The Construction Manager will report to the Project Manager. The incumbent must have a strong technical background in Construction / Electrical / Mechanical / Civil / with National Renewable Energy projects / Oil & Gas / and will be managing Superintendents / Installation techs and contractors in support of projects from concept to completion. The ideal candidate must have a strong background in areas related to RNG, CNG, and/or oil and gas. The construction manager needs to have excellent leadership and supervisory skills.
Duties and Responsibilities:
•Manage projects during the development, pre-construction, construction, and commissioning phases.
•Serve as the primary point of contact and maintain consistent and thorough communication with key stakeholders (both internal and external).
•Ensure smooth transitions between project phases through close coordination with members of the development, construction, and operations teams in multiple states.
•Accountable for safety, scope, budget, and schedule of your projects.
•Ensuring jobsite safety protocols are in place and followed.
•Review design drawings for compliance with construction principles, company standards, state and federal standards, customer contract requirements, and related specifications.
•Write scope letters and takeoffs per the construction plans and specifications.
•Monitor and report job schedules.
•Schedule Logistics for containers and trucking.
•Set up crane picks and major equipment deliveries.
•Schedule site deliveries.
•Utility interconnections (natural gas, power, water, internet).
•Contractor point of contact for issues and resolution.
•Develop quantity and cost estimates for change order pricing and submitting to PM.
•Approval of Concur, clock in, and ADP.
•Field closeout paperwork, end of job review, contractor scoring.
•Review and approve weekly updates.
•Provide recommendations on existing and future contractors.
Qualifications and Skills:
•Ten plus years of industrial scale project management experience.
•Experience working on gas processing projects such as RNG, gas transmission and compression, gas treating, air separation, LNG, CNG, hydrogen, or related.
•Four-year technical/engineering degree from an accredited educational institution, preferred but not required.
•PMP certification preferred but not required.
•Must be able to adapt and pivot in response to changes on a day-to-day basis.
•Demonstratable skills and experience with Autodesk Construction Cloud, Procore, Bluebeam, or MS Project.
•Strong understanding of project controls and contract management. Experience managing projects with CAPEX greater than $5MM.
•Ability to manage concurrent projects in multiple states.
•Approximately 75% travel overnight normally, but during site commissioning your presence may be required on-site daily.
•Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
•A strong candidate will have an existing network of vendors and contractors throughout the US and be able to deploy those resources to support the overall goals of the Downstream Construction group.
