Job Description
We are seeking a motivated and driven Construction Inspector to join our team out of the South Plainfield, NJ office! We are looking for candidates who want to build a career with an emerging team of vibrant, career-oriented, and collaborative engineers, geo-professionals, and office staff. This role will mostly be in the field on job sites, but will also require time in the office to help prepare and/or review construction documents and reports. When not on site, your role will have the flexibility to work partially remotely (hybrid) from our South Plainfield, NJ office.
“Must-have” qualifications and attributes:
•Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or related field; or 1–5 years of relevant construction inspection experience with a HS Diploma/GED; or a combination of education and experience
•Valid U.S. driver’s license and reliable transportation
•Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, cost estimates, and reports
•Foundational knowledge of construction techniques, methods, and materials
•Strong communication and problem-solving skills with a proactive, “get-it-done” mindset
•High attention to detail with strong organizational, teamwork, and coordination skills
•Excellent written, visual, and verbal communication skills
•Ability to prepare field and inspection reports in a timely and professional manner
•Professional presence and ability to interact respectfully and effectively with clients, contractors, and colleagues
•Self-motivated, accountable, and able to manage tasks from start to finish with minimal supervision
•Physically capable of working outdoors in varying conditions, including lifting up to 50 lbs and climbing ladders or scaffolding as required
•Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
“Nice-to-have” experience and certifications:
•Prior experience in construction inspection or quality control on civil/structural projects
•Field experience with one or more of the following: compacted fills, concrete foundations, deep foundations (including piles or piers), solar tracker systems, site utilities, retaining walls, and structural steel
•Familiarity with relevant codes and standards, such as IBC, ACI, AISC, and ASCE
•OSHA 10-Hour Construction Safety certification
•ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician or Concrete Construction Special Inspector certification
•Familiarity with AutoCAD or similar drafting software
The challenge that lies ahead include:
•Join a dynamic team of engineers and inspectors working across solar, civil, and structural markets
•Monitor on-site construction activities—particularly related to solar tracker foundation installation, structural elements, and load testing—for compliance with plans and specifications
•Perform field inspections, materials testing, photo documentation, and hand sketches to record work in progress
•Maintain detailed daily field logs and prepare progress reports to document construction observations
•Track materials received or used, quantities installed, and document any non-conformance issues
•Represent the firm as the on-site inspector, assisting with change orders, RFIs, shop drawings, and as-built documentation
•Help prepare or review cost estimates, bid packages, and construction records
•Maintain organized project files, drawings, and records throughout the lifecycle of the assignment
•Participate in professional growth opportunities, such as continuing education, industry involvement, and exposure to new responsibilities that support long-term career development

Pay: $72,000.00 - $77,000.00 per year
