What Kind of Work Does Synergetic Do?

Synergetic Service Corp is a construction company based in Wilmington, North Carolina. We have been installing and maintaining vehicle barrier security systems, airport support equipment, and other specialized products since 2002. We work on military bases, airports, and other types of secure government and commercial facilities throughout the U.S.

Synergetic is growing; and we need permanent, full-time concrete construction crew members to hit the road with us. This crew will dig holes and pour concrete and install vehicle barrier systems around the country.

These opportunities are for people who have solid skills and experience in a broad range of civil and mechanical construction techniques and think of themselves as jacks-of-all-trades. A typical installation project involves concrete cutting and demolition, excavation, rebar-tying, form-building, running drain pipes and conduits, placing and finishing concrete, mechanical installation, and even some light hydraulics from time to time. We use tools and equipment like concrete saws, jack hammers, forklifts, skid steer loaders, excavators, drills, welders, brooms, shovels, and paint brushes ; often many of these things throughout the course of a single day.

What is it Like to Work at Synergetic?

This is a job for someone who loves to travel a lot. The installation work that we have lined up for the rest of this year (and beyond) will take place across many states throughout the country. Sometimes our projects take a few days; sometimes they take several weeks; and we go prepared to stay until they are complete. Crews mobilize to sites either by driving company trucks or airline travel, depending upon circumstances. If you cringe at the idea of life on the road (suitcases, hotels, and restaurant food), you probably won’t like this job for very long.

This is not a typical 40-hour-per-week job. Most of our projects are scheduled for normal work hours, but sometimes sites require night or weekend work. And every once in a while, we find ourselves working late in the rain in order to meet a deadline or to get set up for the next day. We work hard and make good livings; but we also recognize that a balance of healthy relationships and habits and getting home to family, friends, and personal recreation activities are among the most important parts of life
