The Marine Facilities Construction Coordinator plays a critical role in ensuring the successful execution of construction projects from start to finish. This position serves as the link between the office, field, subcontractors, and clients—coordinating technical aspects, managing documentation, monitoring progress, and supporting site operations to ensure quality, safety, budget, and schedule compliance.
- Manage contractors by preparing and maintaining project schedules, budgets, and progress reports.
- Maintain project documentation including RFIs, submittals, shop drawings, change orders, work plans and facilitate coordination meetings.
- Track and manage procurement schedules to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment.
- Coordinate with engineers and consultants for design clarifications and approvals.
- Serve as liaison between the field and the site leadership team.
- Monitor daily construction activities to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, and quality standards.
- Assist in resolving technical issues and field conflicts in a timely manner.
- Enforce company safety policies and ensure adherence to OSHA and project-specific safety requirements.
- Conduct site inspections to verify workmanship, materials, and compliance with codes and standards.
- Document quality control checks and ensure corrective actions are implemented promptly.
- Monitor progress against the construction schedule and assist in developing recovery plans if delays occur.
- Track quantities, costs, and resource usage to ensure budget adherence.
- Assist in evaluating subcontractor performance and approving progress payments.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
- 5-10 years of experience in construction project management or related engineering roles. Preference for experience in Marine Construction.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry standards.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Procore, Primavera P6, MS Project) and MS Office Suite.
- Familiarity with reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- OSHA 30-hour certification (preferred).
- Attention to Detail – Ensures accuracy in documentation and project tracking.
