Powerline Plus Ltd. provides quality solutions to public utilities, municipalities and developers, as well as to industrial, national and international manufacturing companies across the GTA.
Billing Coordinators at Powerline Plus Ltd. plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate activities related to civil construction projects under the direction of the Program Manager. This role involves a high level of multitasking, critical thinking and coordination to oversee numerous civil construction projects. This role will be 70% in the office and 30% in the field/construction related meetings. Civil Project Coordinators participate actively and maintain ongoing relations with foremen, supervisors, electrical project coordinators, billing coordinators, management, clients and external stakeholders.
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:
•Completion of a College Diploma or University Degree in Project Coordination, Project Management, Civil Engineering, Architectural Design or related discipline required
•A minimum of two (2) years of experience as a Project Coordinator, Locates Coordinator, Project Manager, Project Estimator, Billing Coordinator or other related role in a large utility, natural gas or telecommunication construction company required
•A strong knowledge and understanding of locates and permit attainment required
•Valid ‘G’ Driver’s License with clean driver’s abstract required
•Must be able to work outdoors in adverse conditions such as: heat exposure, cold temperatures, rain, snow etc.
•Ability to gather, collect, assess and report critical information
•Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and MS Project required
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
•Working conjunctively with the locates coordinator to ensure locates are prepared accurately and as per project requirements
•Using the Ministry of Labour’s (MOL) online system to provide a Notice of Project (NOP)
•Give client drawings and UPCMS sheets to the Project Estimator & Construction Support so material may be requisitioned through Powerline’s Procurement Department
•Request job numbers from Powerline’s Billing Department for each project
•Coordinate site meetings with the City of Toronto prior to commencing a project; to present scope of work with an official from the City of Toronto, whom will advise as to the need for pay duty officers, various occupancy permits, working time restrictions etc. based on the location/nature of the project
•Submit Road Disruption Activity Reporting System (RoDARS) to the City of Toronto’s Traffic Management Centre (TMC) Dispatch by e-mail whom will add the restriction(s) to the City’s restriction map and scheduled road restrictions report
•If a conflict arises between work slated to be completed and a railroad crossing the Civil Project Coordinator shall notify applicable parties including but not limited to; Metrolinx and its subsidiaries and the Canadian National Railway Company (‘CN’)
•Once all pertinent project documents are attained, preparation of a job binder can begin purging old job binders when necessary
•Work diligently to ensure all permits and locates do not expire requesting permit extensions when necessary
•Attend preconstruction meetings with various clients
•Responsible for sending completion of projects notifications and reports to various clients for project closeout
•Various administrative tasks
