WestCorp Solutions is seeking a skilled Condition Based Monitoring Specialist to support our client in Fort McMurray, AB. The successful candidate will contribute to inspection planning, data analysis, and risk-based decision-making for piping systems, supporting safe and reliable operations within a dynamic industrial environment.
Location: Fort McMurray, AB Contract Length: 12 months with potential for renewal Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8-hours per day Travel: Daily client-provided bussing to/from site. Candidates are responsible for their own accommodations in the Fort McMurray area. Camp accommodations are not available for this role.
- Develop and issue inspection packages for piping systems using time-based, condition-based, and/or risk-based methodologies.
- Review NDE results, determine corrosion rates, assess probability of failure and associated financial and safety risks, and recommend appropriate inspection or intervention actions.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to address higher corrosion rate circuits and manage inspection deferrals where applicable.
- Work proactively to achieve zero overdue piping inspections within assigned units.
- Communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, maintain a strong learning mindset, and demonstrate initiative in problem-solving and continuous improvement.
- Bachelor’s degree in Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline, or a Technologist diploma in Inspection/Welding/Materials (or equivalent).
- 1–6 years of relevant industry experience in piping inspection, corrosion analysis, or related fields.
- Preferred backgrounds include: Mechanical Engineers with piping experience, Materials Engineers with knowledge of damage mechanisms and inspection practices, or QA Inspectors with piping inspection experience
- Self-motivated with excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Willingness to learn, ask questions, and work collaboratively.
- Required Safety Tickets: H2S, Permit Receiver, Working from Heights, Confined Space, and CSO or BSO
