- Demonstrate considerable working knowledge of civic and business structures in the Bozeman area and communities throughout Montana.
- Ability to interact with the public and develop positive customer and community relationships
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products required
- Demonstrable leadership, conflict resolution and change agent skills required
- Establish productive, positive and effective relationships with business, civic, and local government leaders
- Represent NorthWestern Energy in various economic development opportunities including Chambers of Commerce and Economic Development groups
- Assist in the establishment of position papers for consistent and appropriate company messages
- Identify strengths and challenges in each community
- Review existing agreements, develop consistent strategies, identify opportunities, and establish professional relationships in the communities served
- Establish process to track large projects for targeted communities
- Represent NorthWestern Energy at public meetings and forums
- Develop and/or present informational presentations to governmental and civic groups.
- Assess development opportunities in relation to siting of commercial and residential development
- Work with local Contribution Committees for charitable giving
- Support local employee community/volunteer involvement
- Develop methodology to measure productivity and effectiveness of Community Relations actions and outreach programs
- Evaluate and establish methods to grow the utility business
- Develop and implement a community action plan
- Represent NorthWestern Energy on non-profit Boards
- Must be able to travel up to and in excess of 60% of the time and be available to represent NorthWestern Energy at various evening and weekend functions
- Adhere to company safety standards and the Code of Business Conduct & Ethics
- Ensure all actions are consistent with NorthWestern Energy's values, mission, Code of Conduct and Ethics, and strategic business objectives
Full-time position.
$83,600 - $139,300 annually, depending on experience.
