SSWD is looking for a self-starting and team-oriented individual to assist the Water Conservation and Human Resources departments as a Communications Student Intern.
This position is open to college students majoring in communications or closely related field.
·Assist in drafting and editing press releases, newsletters, fact sheets, and website content.
· Create and schedule posts for social media platforms.
· Help develop graphics, videos, and other visual content for communication campaigns.
· Support community outreach and public education initiatives, including event planning and participation.
· Monitor media coverage and help with media tracking and reporting.
· Update and maintain media lists and stakeholder contact databases.
· Conduct research on communication trends and best practices in the water utility sector.
· Update and maintain changes to the District website.
· Microsoft Office – in particular, Excel, Word, Access, and Outlook.
· Working in an office environment and using a variety of office equipment.
· Ability to independently and simultaneously organize and manage a variety of tasks.
· Strong oral / interpersonal and written communication skills.
· Responsible, quick learner, and committed to tasks at hand.
