Job Overview

DEMS LLC is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Cost Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction estimating and a comprehensive understanding of various trades, including trim carpentry, drywall and framing, landscaping and irrigation, fences and gates, flooring installation, and restoration industry practices. This role involves analyzing project specifications, preparing detailed cost estimates, and collaborating with project managers to ensure accurate budgeting and resource allocation.

Responsibilities

•

Review project plans and specifications to develop comprehensive cost estimates.

•

Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to gather necessary information for accurate estimations.

•

Prepare detailed breakdowns of labor, materials, and overhead costs associated with construction projects.

•

Utilize knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry standards to inform estimates.

•

Conduct site visits to assess conditions and gather data for more precise estimations.

•

Maintain relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing.

•

Analyze historical data from previous projects to improve the accuracy of future estimates.

•

Prepare reports and presentations summarizing cost estimates for management review.

Requirements

•

Proven experience in construction estimating or a related field.

•

Strong knowledge of construction practices, including trim carpentry, drywall and framing, landscaping and irrigation, fences and gates, flooring installation, maintenance person services, and restoration techniques.

•

Familiarity with schematics and blueprints is essential.

•

Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail in calculations and documentation.

•

Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and clients.

•

Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

•

Proficiency in estimating software and tools used in the construction industry is preferred.
