We’re looking for passionate engineers with solid background in Gas Turbine combustion to join the LGT Combustion Module (MOD CB) team as aero designers able to perform CFD and other analysis for all combustion system developments including hydrogen and special fuels developments. As a part of the multinational and multidisciplinary team you would work with team members globally for various interdisciplinary topics like mechanical design, thermos-acoustics. You would conceptualize aero design of combustion systems and help in validation of the same.
- Lead and implement the development of combustion aero concepts from preliminary and detailed designs.
- Complete analyses to down-select new design solutions, to understand the impact of different design solutions on the air mixing fuel, emissions, performance, and dynamics.
- Master’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field (or foreign degree equivalent) and 3 years of experience in the job offered or in an acceptable alternate occupation. Higher degree can be used in lieu of experience.
- Understanding different computational methods applied in combustion simulations, realizing and selecting the method and software depending on the project’s timeline.
- Experience with engine performance (efficiency, emission, …) as well as details of combustion behavior (physical and numerical turbulent properties, un-mixedness, temperature fluctuations, flashback propensity);
- Advanced combustion simulation methods, software and coding skills to be able to write customized post processing software suites.
- Candidates with more years of experience can be considered at a higher level.
- Requires global travel up to 20%.
- Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
