Scheduled Work Hours: Rotating shifts 8 hours in length to cover plant staffed hours. Rotating weekend coverage and on call duties.
Gas Turbine Technicians/Solar Technicians will be required to perform all Maintenance and Operations work at the plant and solar farms. This will include all Mechanical, Electrical, I&C, and Operator work at the plant and solar farms. Technicians are responsible for maintenance and repair of all power plant equipment including; reverse osmosis system, electric motors, voltage regulators, gearboxes, pumps, valves, control valves, hydraulic systems, compressors, protective relays, generators, and other combustion turbine components. They are also responsible for maintaining a ready to start status on all the units and monitoring them for proper operation when online. Technicians are also responsible for maintaining the solar farms which include inverters, AC/DC systems, pv modules, tracking systems, SCADA systems, remote monitoring and operating and other solar farm components, some travel is required.
Technicians will also be responsible for specifying parts and equipment and creating requisitions for such parts, shipping and receiving of warehouse items, updating and documenting changes in the plants, identifying and designing upgrades and modifications that are necessary, supervising contractors as necessary for larger projects, managing projects as necessary, upkeep of the plant engineering drawings and equipment manuals, and interfacing with OEM representatives to manage the plant equipment in a safe and reliable manner.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Requires eight years of power plant experience or equivalent. Experience in an industrial plant environment that effectively utilizes planning and scheduling is Required. Must be skilled in industrial electrical maintenance, control wiring, power distribution and switchgear maintenance. Experience with Mark VIe or other DCS based control system and experience in the operation and maintenance of combustion turbines and solar is also preferred. Skills such as rotating equipment alignment, welding, rigging, machining, and troubleshooting are also beneficial.
Licenses, Certifications, Bonding, and/or Testing Required:
Valid driver's license required.
Work Conditions:
Plant environment. Working conditions will require indoor and outdoor work at a moment’s notice in all types of weather. May occasionally require overnight travel to other facilities in support of maintenance activities. Requires work beyond normal working hours as needed. Must have a satisfactory work record including good attendance.
