NELSON STEEL PRODUCTS, INC., a leader in sheet metal fabrication, has an opportunity available for a coil line setter/operator on 1st shift.
Our 1st shift runs from 6:30am-3pm Mon-Fri. Overtime is on Saturdays from 6am-11am, but its not guaranteed.
-Average tenure among all employees is 10 (plus) years!
1. Perform coil changes and move material from the coil all the way through the die.
3. Operates turret/punch press machine and produces parts for assembly operations.
4. Places workpiece or die in table and aligns workpiece with gauges on machine.
5. Checks height, depth and thickness using precision measuring equipment, such as calipers, gauges and other precision-measuring instruments.
7. Operate material handling equipment including forklift and overhead crane.
8. Completes in process check and records on work order
10. Evaluates work to determine if it is high quality/acceptable.
11. Works independently and within a team on special nonrecurring and ongoing projects.
12. Responsible for keeping equipment and work area clean and orderly.
13. Communicates to co-workers and other team members in an effective way.
The ideal candidate for this position would have experience and fundamentals in progressive prog dies, knowledge of coil chambers, and be capable of adjusting prog links.

The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, feel or operate objects, tools, or controls. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to talk or hear. This position may also be required to work overtime and/or weekends as needed.
