A Line Operator at a zinc electroplating facility is responsible for operating and maintaining the production line used in the electroplating process. Job Responsibilities

•

Machine Operation:

•

Set up, operate, and monitor electroplating equipment, including tanks, conveyors, and racks.

•

Adjust machine settings (voltage, current, chemical concentrations) to meet plating requirements.

•

Start and stop the production line as needed to maintain workflow.

•

Process Monitoring:

•

Inspect materials and components for quality before and after plating.

•

Monitor the plating process to ensure consistent coating thickness, adhesion, and surface finish.

•

Record production data, including cycle times, plating thickness, and operational parameters.

•

Quality Assurance:

•

Conduct visual and dimensional inspections of plated components to meet quality standards.

•

Perform basic testing (e.g., adhesion or thickness tests) to confirm product compliance.

•

Address and resolve any quality issues or process deviations.

•

Chemical Handling:

•

Prepare and maintain plating solutions by mixing chemicals according to standard operating procedures (SOPs).

•

Monitor and adjust chemical levels in tanks to maintain optimal operating conditions.

•

Handle and dispose of hazardous materials in compliance with environmental and safety regulations.

•

Maintenance and Troubleshooting:

•

Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of equipment to prevent downtime.

•

Troubleshoot equipment issues, make minor repairs, or escalate to maintenance teams as necessary.

•

Report equipment malfunctions and participate in preventive maintenance programs.

•

Safety and Compliance:

•

Follow all safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).

•

Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and workplace safety standards.

•

Participate in safety drills and training sessions.

•

Production Efficiency:

•

Collaborate with team members to meet production targets and schedules.

•

Optimize workflow to reduce waste and maximize productivity.

•

Identify areas for process improvement and communicate suggestions to supervisors.

•

Documentation and Reporting:

•

Maintain accurate records of production metrics, material usage, and quality inspections.

•

Prepare reports on production output, downtime, and quality issues.

•

Assist in audits related to quality and compliance.

•

Team Collaboration:

•

Work closely with other operators, technicians, and supervisors to coordinate activities.

•

Provide training or guidance to new operators as needed.

•

Participate in team meetings to discuss production goals and performance.

Pay: $18.54 - $20.03 per hour
