Wireline Operator

We have an opening for a Wireline Operator based out of our Midland, TX location. Reporting to the USA Gyro/Wireline & Antenna Coordinator, the Wireline Operator will use their practical and classroom-based training of standard principles, theories, concepts, and techniques, to safely operate and maintain the Company wireline truck, as well as exercise judgment to determine the appropriate action needed on each well site.
•Prepare the wireline truck for field operations, including a full function test of the downhole and surface gear, an inventory of the truck, and proper packing and securing of the truck for travel.
•Participate in JSA (Job Safety Analysis) conduct on site meetings with both Phoenix and Operator employees.
•Rig up the wireline sheaves, safety slings and pressure control equipment on the drilling rig or wellhead.
•Complete rig down operations including cleaning, packing tools onto truck, preparing DOT paperwork and end of job reports, forwarding reports to General Manager, and filing all job paperwork.
•Service equipment at the shop and inform the General Manager of any concerns or problems and turn in run and failure reports.
•Perform post trip inspection of wireline truck, and alert General Manager of any mechanical or safety issues.
•Wash and prepare wireline truck for the next job.
•Attend, complete and successfully pass all training courses as required.
•Provide professional collaboration with all customers and Phoenix personnel.
•Carry out duties according to the established Phoenix Health and Safety Program, including those relating to Company rules, hazard reporting, use and care of tools, safe work practices, use of P.P.E. and accident reporting.
•When on site follow the Health and Safety Program of the owner or prime contractor.
•Perform all other duties as assigned.
•Assist other departments with various projects when time permits.
•Perform all duties so as to meet the responsibilities listed in the Employee and Corporate HSE Handbooks.
•Perform duties according to the Company’s quality system procedures and work instructions.
The successful candidate will have previous rig experience and a minimum 14 days of on-the-job training with an experienced Phoenix Wireline Operator, or, if no previous rig experience, a minimum 60 days of on-the-job training with an experienced Phoenix Wireline Operator. The preferred candidate will have a 2 year technical degree, and a valid driver’s license and Class B CDL, with valid H2S Alive certificates where applicable. They will have excellent communication, organization, problem solving skills, and strong computer skills. Candidate must live in the Midland/Odessa Area.
